I again realize why I stopped watching the news. Did anyone see the story on ABNBSCBS-They're all the same crap-about the flu vaccine last night? Brian Williams was the talking head. Anyone want to bet that the statistics thrown around in the news story last night touting how much less work mom and dad will miss and how many less school days kids will miss if only they are vaccinated are as phony as a three dollar bill. I would bet anything a decent independent statistician would shred their findings in five minutes. But the media just regurgitates them as if they are the gospel.
    It's SICKENING!
    What happened to our press?
How do you take a news story reporting that the vaccine has at least a 60% failure rate and come to the conclusion giving more of them is a going to help anything or anybody- besides the person selling the vaccine of course. It is astounding. I think even a disinterested party would find that reasoning idiotic. Does Lilly or Merck own the Networks now?

One of the things about vaccinating a six month old for flu that has never made sense to me and no one has ever touched on and there fore never explained is... If the AAP and everyone else is recommending that a baby breastfeed exclusively for the first six months of life, and it's recommended that we not give babies eggs until they're a year old or so - how in the heck can one answer the questions asked before a flu shot or any vaccine is given - specifically - does your child have an egg allergy? I just don't get it...

I have reported on this before, but this was the same primary reason given for adopting and recommending the chicken pox vaccine: "Scandals: When is an oops not really an oops? When you get to solve the problems you cause, and make money doing both!" (http://www.vaccinationnews.com/Scandals/Dec_27_02/Scandal48.htm )

    Same-oh same-oh.

How much work will I miss now that I'll be home-schooling? Umm, all of it.

NPR did a story on this which included a reference to a study of children and annual flu shots soemwhere in Texas. They claimed the rates of flu went down. All I could think was: What happened with the autism rates???
