Dr. Jayne Donegan Cleared of Misconduct in UK
Dr. Donegan was called as an expert witness in a vaccine injury case in the UK. This announcement was on her website this morning:
Dr Jayne Donegan MBBS DRCOG DCH DFFP MRCGP MFHom
August 24 2007 - Statement from Dr Jayne L M Donegan, who was today cleared of serious professional misconduct by the General Medical Council.
"I have always maintained that the court evidence I gave was based on sound research and I'm pleased that this has been recognised by today's verdict."
"This has been a very distressing time for me and my family and I would like to thank those who have supported me throughout, and to the legal team assembled by the Medical Defence Union and led by Ian Stern QC."
"I am looking forward to continuing my work, offering my patients the best care I possibly can."
Here's some background on the case from The Guardian:
"A doctor accused by a senior judge of peddling "junk science" as an expert witness in a court case is facing action by the General Medical Council which could strip her of the right to practise." You can read the full Guardian article about Dr. Donegan here.

Here is a very good discussion of the case by someone who obviously (?) doesn't support her views of vaccination, but who is concerned about the bullying and the duplicitous role of the General Medical Council.

More of the same manipulation by the drug companies to avoid even the investigation of a possible link between vaccines and injuries to children. Why isn't full disclosure the standard?
